  1. Reduce fat. You should should have less than 25 percent of your calories from non-saturated fat - and that fat should all the fat in your diet.
  2. Don’t eat sweets so much. When you do eat sweets, you want to eat more of everything.
  3. Drink more water. In general, drink a half-ounce of water for every pound you weigh every day. So if you weigh 120 pounds, drink 60 oz. of water daily.
  4. Fill up on fiber. You can feel full and eat less by eating foods rich in dietary fiber such as whole grain cereals, vegetables and fruits.
